Using Skype NDI with XSplit Broadcaster

As of version 8.25, Microsoft Skype can now output video and audio via Newtek’s NDI. Here is a guide on how to send that NDI output onto XSplit Broadcaster.

You will need the latest version of Skype to send NDI streams to XSplit Broadcaster. To check:

  1. On Skype, click the icon and then select Settings.
  2. Go to Help & Feedback and the version number will be listed below the Skype icon.

If you have a version lower than 8.25, then you can download Skype for Content Creators here.

Enabling NDI Output in Skype

  1. Click the icon and then select Settings.

  2. Go to Calling and then select Advanced.

  3. Enable the option Allow NDI usage.

Adding Skype NDI sources in XSplit Broadcaster

  1. Start a video call on Skype.

  2. On XSplit Broadcaster, go to Add source > Streams > NewTek NDI steam (Beta) > and select the NDI source name.

Note: If it’s a group call, each recipient will have their own NDI source name.
