Recordings Tab

Arranging Recordings

In the Recordings Tab, you can also view your recordings as thumbnails clicking on the 32.1 XGC List and Thumbnail Toggle.png button in the top right corner of the window:

To go back to list view, simply click on the button, also in the top right corner.

You can sort your recordings by name, date, type, length, and size by right clicking in the Recordings Tab and choosing how you want your recordings to be sorted:

You can also order your recordings to be ascending or descending based on Name, Date, Type, Length, and Size by clicking on the arrow beside the name of the column in the Recordings Tab:

Managing Recordings

When you click on a recording, you will be shown the name of the recording, some recording stats, and a variety of options at the bottom of the Recordings Tab:

Rename a Recording:

To rename a recording, click on 34.1 XGC Recording Tab - Rename Recording - Pencil Icon.png, and, once you have finished renaming, press the enter key to save your changes.

Delete a Recording:

To delete a recording, click on 34.2 XGC Recording Tab - Rename Recording - Trash Can Icon.png. You can delete multiple recordings by highlighting them and pressing the trash can icon. You will receive a prompt to confirm the deletion of the recording(s).

Change Recordings Location / Open Recordings Folder:

The Recordings Location bar shows where your recordings are currently being saved:

To change the location of where your videos will be saved, click on the recordings folder location.

To open your recordings folder in Windows Explorer, click on Open Folder.

To open the Express Video Editor, click on Express Edit.

Uploading Video Recordings to YouTube

To upload to YouTube, you must first authorize your YouTube account in the Accounts Tab (see Social Network Services for instructions).

After you have authorized your YouTube account, click on a recording then click on the YouTube logo in the bottom right corner:

A window will open and you will be able to fill out the title, description, category, tags, privacy, and you will be able to choose to allow or disallow embedding. Once you have entered the details for YouTube, press the Upload Now button:

In the bottom left corner, you’ll see the progress of the upload:

Once the upload is complete, you will be given the YouTube link for the video:

Then make your changes and click Apply & Close to save them:

Sharing on Social Media

Once a video has been uploaded, you can share the YouTube link on any Facebook or Twitter accounts you have connected to XSplit Gamecaster. Simply click on the icon of the social media site you wish to share:

And a window will appear where you can enter some details about your post before publishing your link:

When you are done entering the details of your post, click on the Share button to post it to your selected social media accounts.

Express Video Editor

You can use the Express Video Editor to cut together your favorite moments in your recording, transforming them into exciting montages and highlight reels.

To open the Express Video Editor, right click on the recording you wish to edit and choose “Express Edit”:

This will open the XSplit Gamecaster Express Video Editor:

The tools that appear at the bottom of the video are what you can use for editing:

Here is a brief description of each tool:

  • Add Video – Add another video to the Timeline (see #9)
  • Split Video – Split video at the Entry Point Marker (see #8)
  • Undo – Cancels the last action
  • Remove Video – Remove selected video
  • Frame Controls – Allows you to move back one frame, play the video, or move forward one frame from the Entry Point Marker
  • Zoom In or Zoom Out of Timeline – Lets you expand or contract the Timeline (see #8)
  • Entry Point Marker (Blue downward arrow with a red line) – marks the point in the Timeline (see #9) where your changes will be applied to
  • Timeline – shows the entire sequence of your video, frame by frame, arranged in chronological order
